The executive board of Conergy Deutschland GmbH has grown stronger: With Norbert Apfel (49) the Hamburg solar energy concern has brought another renowned executive aboard to direct German sales.
Born in Wuppertal, Mr. Apfel brings with him to his new post as Managing Director more than 20 years of practical experience in distribution operations. His most recent role was as a regional director, with full power of attorney, for ISS-CATRO, a service provider in the facility management industry. Previous career stops for Mr. Apfel include roles as sales manager for Germany, Austria and Switzerland at the Conergy subsidiary SunTechnics, CEO Europe at Kompan a/s (game and sport solutions) in Denmark and as a sales manager at Oticon GmbH (hearing devices).
Beginning January 1, 2009, Norbert Apfel is responsible for distribution operations at Conergy Deutschland for the national PV market that remains the company's most important core market. In this role, Apfel will lead the day-to-day product and systems sales for all sales channels and assist the existing executive team of Jochen Kirmaier (General Manager for Central Europe) and Claas Fierlings (Commercial Director). Jochen Kirmaier, CEO of Conergy Deutschland since December 2007, will dedicate himself more strongly than before to the further development of other European photovoltaic markets within his responsibility. This concerns especially Italy and the Czech Republic.
