Further important step in aligning the Conergy Group as focused provider in the solar energy business
As part of the realignment of the Hamburg Conergy AG as a focused provider in the solar energy business, the company has successfully sold its thermal activities in Belgium and the Netherlands. Conergy CEO Dieter Ammer: “The sale is an important step in the restructuring program through which we are aligning Conergy with our core competence in the solar electricity business. This will reinforce our earning capacity and we will soon be back on the road to success.”
On the one hand, the sale included the Belgian Conergy bvba, based in Lille. This company is involved in the production of solar thermal collectors and the associated B2B sales structure for Belgium and the Netherlands. On the other hand, Conergy sold Redenko bv, which, based in Breda in the Netherlands, sells heat pumps and district heating systems to its regional customers. The buyer was ZEN International bv, with its partners Teun Bokhoven, Hans Brekelmans, John Van Dam and Karel Veen.
Having previously managed Conergy’s thermal business in Belgium and the Netherlands, they have now taken over Conergy bvba and Redenko bv as part of a management buyout. Bokhoven commented: “We are happy with the rapid results in these acquisitions, which enables us to provide a strong renewable energy portfolio in the Benelux and other Northern European countries. Within the PV business we will in the future continue to work closely with Conergy.”
For Conergy AG the sale of both companies is another milestone on the road to becoming a focused provider in the solar energy business. In the near future, the solar group will sell additional, non-strategic activities and sectors, and as a result concentrate entirely on its core competences in the development, production, sale and installation of photovoltaic components and systems. |
