Hamburg-based Conergy AG has been awarded a contract by its subsidiary SunTechnics for the turnkey implementation of two large-scale bioenergy installations with an investment volume totaling some EUR 30 million. The 2.5 megawatt project in Jüterbog and the biodiesel project in Rodleben illustrate how successfully the integration of MAT-tec Engineering GmbH, which was only taken over in July, is proceeding. With this project, the goods on order in the bioenergy segment scheduled for 2006 now come to in excess of EUR 60 million.
SunTechnics is the only company to offer one-stop photovoltaics, solar thermal products and biogas installations. SunTechnics’ key target market had already expressed a sharp rise in interest in bioenergy systems at the Agritechnica, the agricultural industry’s most important trade fair in Hanover. “We offer farmers the system technology they need to become energy suppliers,” explained Hans-Martin Rüter, Chief Executive and founder of Conergy AG.
In the fourth quarter of 2005, sales in the bioenergy segment topped the EUR 6 million mark. With this result Conergy considers itself well on the way to outstripping the sales target of EUR 500 million (previous year EUR 285 million) and greatly increasing the after-tax result to EUR 27 million (Previous year EUR 11 million). Conergy also expects to up its sales in the coming year significantly above the forecast market growth of 25%.
