Nikolaus Krane retires from the Board of Conergy after reorganization of EPURON

21.04.2009

Hamburg, 21. April 2009 – The Supervisory Board of Conergy AG reached a mutual agreement with board member Nikolaus Krane regarding the termination of his contract with effect of 30.04.2009.

In mid-2008, Conergy began moving its sizeable and successful photovoltaic projects from EPURON to the Conergy PV division – therefore bringing all downstream photovoltaic activities of the group under one roof.Since then, board member Philip von Schmeling has taken over responsibility for this division.

Mr Krane, who was until then in charge of the EPURON business projects, was actively involved during the entire implementation process. With the successful completion of this rearrangement, the set-up of EPURON’s executive division has also undergone fundamental changes. With just over 100 employees, the division toady includes the areas wind and bio-energy technologies as well as large solar thermal projects. This division will report to CFO Dr. Jörg Spiekerkötter in the future.

Conergy’s CEO Dieter Ammer:“Since 1999, Nikolaus Krane has been involved with the expansion of the Conergy Group, particularly the major projects in the area of renewable energies. He has therefore been instrumental in the development of wind energy, making Conergy one of the market leaders in this industry. With a much smaller workforce and reduced sales, the slimmed down company can no longer justify its own executive division. In a joint decision, Mr. Krane and the Supervisory Board have therefore agreed to terminate his contract."
